ConfigSync

What’s new

Every change that reaches configsync.app, newest first. Dates are the day it went live.

  1. Confirm your email

    v0.16.0
    • NewA new account confirms its email address with a link before its first sign-in. Didn't get it? Send it again from the same screen, or just sign in — a fresh link goes out.
  2. A first dashboard with somewhere to start

    v0.15.1
    • ImprovedA new account's dashboard puts Counter-Strike 2 and Rocket League one click away, shows the three steps to the same setup on every PC with the ones already done ticked, and keeps the Windows app beside them.
    • ImprovedThe Windows app card links to the csync companion for Linux or the terminal.
  3. Find a setting, and sync from the tray

    v0.15.0
    • NewSearch inside a preset: type part of a setting's name, its description or its config key, and only the matching settings stay. Pick one category to see just that one.
    • NewThe Windows app lives in the tray. Tick Keep games in sync and it starts with Windows and keeps every game on this PC's preset, even with its window closed (Pro).
    • FixedPublic profile and preset pages carry the site's name once in their title.
  4. Rocket League's whole menu from screenshots

    v0.14.2
    • ImprovedImport from screenshot knows Rocket League's full settings menu as the game shows it today: gameplay, camera with its keyboard and controller free look, interface, Stream Safe, the scoreboard for every mode, chat, training, and every binding for both keyboard and mouse and gamepad, with their real choices and ranges. Renamed labels such as FOV still land on the setting you have.
    • ImprovedValues a game prints with a note, like "144 FPS (Recommended)" or "All (Default)", are read as the choice they are.
    • FixedA new Rocket League game offers the choices the game really has for Render Quality, Render Detail, Texture Detail, World Detail, Particle Detail, Effect Intensity, Controller Vibration and the frame-rate cap, and the full ranges for the deadzones and vibration intensity.
  5. A whole settings menu from screenshots

    v0.14.1
    • ImprovedImport from screenshot reads up to 16 screenshots together, so a menu that spans several pages comes in as one: a setting cut between two screenshots is read once, and a heading carries over to the next page.
    • ImprovedSettings are recognised by what they are, not only by their label. When a game renames one (V-Sync for Wait for Vertical Sync), it still lands on the setting you already have, and a Display row no longer ends up on Display Mode.
    • ImprovedFor Counter-Strike 2, settings your preset doesn't have yet arrive with their real choices and ranges, filed under the menu's own sections. A section your preset lacks, such as Music, is created when you apply.
  6. Everything about a setting, one click away

    v0.14.0
    • NewClick a setting's name in a preset to see its details: the value against its default, the range or choices, your description and notes, and for Counter-Strike 2 and Rocket League the exact config file and key the companion reads and writes. Reset, edit or copy it from there.
  7. Game cards with character

    v0.13.2
    • ImprovedThe game cards on the home page each have their own look, in the game's colour: contour lines for Counter-Strike 2, field lines and a boost glow for Rocket League, and the ConfigSync dot grid for any other game.
  8. Account first, then the Windows app

    v0.13.1
    • ImprovedThe Windows app now downloads from your dashboard and Settings, next to the token it asks for on first launch. The home page shows what it does and starts you with an account.
    • FixedThe sign-in and sign-up pages show their artwork again, and it loads faster.
  9. ConfigSync for Windows, and a new home page

    v0.13.0
    • NewA Windows app: install it, paste a token from Settings → Companion, and it shows which of your games this PC has, which preset each should run, and applies or imports with one click. Download it from the home page, the dashboard or Settings.
    • Fixedcsync 0.5.0: applying this PC's own preset with `csync apply` is now recorded, so `csync status` says when it was applied instead of “never”.
    • Improved`csync login` accepts `--json` and reads a piped token from the first line, so other tools can connect the companion without a terminal.
    • ImprovedA new home page you can play with: edit a crosshair and watch it sync to a second PC, scroll through a reinstall being undone by one command, and click through presets, compare and history before you sign up.
  10. Refunds, as the policy says

    v0.12.1
    • FixedA refund now ends Pro on the account straight away, exactly as the refund policy describes.
  11. The companion answers in JSON

    v0.12.0
    • Newcsync 0.4.0: a new `csync status` shows what this PC is connected to and which preset each game should run. With `--json`, it and `csync apply` and `csync import` answer in JSON, so other tools — including the desktop app being built — can drive the companion.
  12. Less of us on every page, and a straight answer about cookies

    v0.11.0
    • ImprovedThe founder offer was redrawn: what you get, what it costs, and the code already applied, in one card.
    • NewA one-line cookie notice on your first visit. It informs, it does not ask — signed out this site sets no cookies at all, and signing in sets only the one that keeps you signed in, so there is nothing to consent to.
    • ImprovedOur contact details now live on /contact, where they are easy to find, instead of at the bottom of every page.
  13. Payment links open

    v0.10.1
    • FixedA payment link from Paddle, like the one in an “update your payment method” email, opens its checkout on the pricing page.
  14. A code for the founder offer

    v0.10.0
    • ImprovedThe alpha founder offer now comes as a code you can copy, keep and pass on. Opening Pro from the offer fills it in for you.
    • FixedWhen a checkout cannot open, the reason is shown instead of a blank “Something went wrong”. Nothing is ever charged when that happens.
  15. Help us support the games you play

    v0.9.0
    • Newcsync 0.3.0: the new `csync discover` command finds the config files of any game you have installed — including games ConfigSync does not support yet — and, after you change one setting in the game, shows you exactly which lines it wrote. Send those lines in and the game can be mapped properly. It needs no account, and nothing leaves your PC.
  16. Two more CS2 settings sync themselves

    v0.8.1
    • ImprovedCounter-Strike 2: Maximum FPS In Game and Audio → Perspective Correction are now read from and written to CS2's own files, instead of being typed in by hand. They live in cs2_machine_convars.vcfg, which the companion now reads alongside the other three.
  17. Two pages that were missing

    v0.8.0
    • New/docs/import-export explains exactly what a ConfigSync export contains, what is deliberately left out of it, and what happens to a preset you already have when you import one with the same name.
    • New/contact: one address, and what to expect when you write about support, an invoice, a refund, your data, a security report or a game you want in the catalog.
  18. Alpha founder offer

    v0.7.0
    • NewWhile ConfigSync is in alpha, the lifetime Pro licence is 10 € instead of 24.99 € — the same Pro, paid once, for as long as this hosted service runs. The discount is applied at checkout; the monthly plan is unchanged at 2.99 €/month.
  19. The companion checks twice

    v0.6.2
    • Fixedcsync 0.2.1: `csync apply` and `csync launch` now refuse to write while the game is open, the same way `csync watch` always has. Close the game and run it again. Auto-switch also re-checks immediately before writing, so a game started mid-apply no longer gets its files changed underneath it.
    • FixedOn Linux the companion now recognises a running game by its executable, not only by its reported name — a game that renames itself while running is no longer mistaken for a closed one.
  20. A cleaner welcome

    v0.6.1
    • ImprovedSign in and account creation now use sharper, high-resolution ConfigSync artwork, and the home page has a cleaner, quieter hero.
  21. The companion is one file

    v0.6.0
    • Newcsync 0.2.0: Windows users download one executable; Linux users run one curl line. No Node, no npm, nothing else to install — the companion carries its own runtime.
    • ImprovedOn Windows the companion finds Steam wherever it is installed, not only under Program Files.
    • Improvedcsync games prints the exact Steam launch option for this machine, with the full path.
  22. Settings, tidied

    v0.5.1
    • ImprovedSettings has a section list that follows you down the page, and the public profile link can be copied or opened right next to its switch.
    • ImprovedThe companion install commands have a copy button.
    • ImprovedImport, Search and Settings sit on the left like every other page, and page titles carry the brand gradient.
  23. Export, rebuilt

    v0.5.0
    • NewDownload all as ZIP: JSON, Markdown and CSV of your whole library in one file.
    • NewRecent exports: what you downloaded from this browser, with size and time, and a one-click way to export it again with today's data.
    • ImprovedOne switch decides whether archived games and presets go into every export; JSON is marked as the backup to keep.
    • NewA changelog — this page — and a version number that moves with it.
  24. A page for every game, and the companion guide goes public

    v0.4.0
    • NewCounter-Strike 2 and Rocket League each have their own page: every setting by name with the config key it maps to, the files the companion reads on each launcher, and the three commands to get going.
    • NewInstalling the companion no longer needs an account to read about: the guide is at /docs/companion.
    • ImprovedSettings, Export, Search, Compare and Import now use the same cards as the dashboard. The 404 and error pages look like the rest of the site.
    • FixedThe Public profile switch saves the moment you flip it. It used to wait for Save profile, which read as already done.
  25. Review before you import

    v0.3.0
    • NewImport walks through Source → Review → Import for both ConfigSync backups and game config files, so you see every proposed value — and every conflict — before anything is saved.
    • NewBackup conflicts show the current and incoming preset side by side, with keep, skip or replace per preset.
    • ImprovedThe whole app moved to the dark Nocturne look: new dashboard with sync status and recent activity, library and preset pages rebuilt, one brand from the landing page to the last dialog.
    • FixedRocket League's real file names and CS2's slot variants are recognised on import.
  26. ConfigSync is live

    v0.2.0
    • Newconfigsync.app opens to everyone: Free keeps three games with ten snapshots per preset; Pro is 2.99 €/month or 24.99 € once.
    • NewPer-PC presets: pick which preset each of your machines should run, and see what each one last applied and when.
    • NewScreenshot importer (Pro): upload photos of a game's settings menu and tick the values you want applied.
    • NewPublic profiles at /p/<username>, with the presets you choose to share and your Twitch, YouTube or Discord links.
  27. The foundation

    v0.1.0
    • NewGames, presets, categories and settings that mirror a game's own menu; Counter-Strike 2 and Rocket League ship with theirs.
    • NewThe companion CLI: csync scans installed games, imports their config files as presets, applies presets back with a backup, and csync watch keeps every PC on the preset you chose.
    • NewCompare any two presets, copy any setting as text, Markdown or JSON, and export the whole library.
